We provide residential landscape design services across Northern Michigan — from Traverse City and the Grand Traverse area to lakefront and waterfront properties in Leelanau, Antrim, and Benzie Counties. We design outdoor spaces that work with your site, your architecture, and the Northern Michigan climate. Whether you need a planting plan, a hardscape layout for a new patio or retaining wall, an outdoor living space design, a landscape lighting plan, or a full site landscape plan coordinated with new construction, we scope each project individually based on your property and goals.

What this can include

Every property and project is different, so the scope is defined together at consultation. Depending on your project, this typically draws from:

• Planting plans with species selection
• Hardscape layout (patios, walkways, retaining walls)
• Outdoor living areas (seating, fire, kitchen zones)
• Privacy screening and screening design
• Surface grading for planting beds and hardscape areas — using existing site survey data when available
• Lighting layout plans
• Material and finish specifications

What we do not include

We do not design structures such as gazebos, pergolas, or outdoor kitchens as standalone building projects — those require a separate building design engagement. We also don't produce stamped civil engineering documents like drainage calculations or stormwater design; where a property needs that, it's outside our scope. Landscape design covers the site, planting, and hardscape elements.
